Easter
TODAYS JOKE:
Q. What do you get when you pour boiling water down a rabbit hole?
A. Hot cross bunnies!
That joke used to crack me up and i thought it was appropiate because it's easter time and I have just eaten 3 hot cross buns. :D (they were really nice). Speaking of easter, I was listening to a CD called Coming Up To Breathe from MercyMe (highly recomended christian CD) and they have an 'easter egg' at the end of theirs. Now for those of you who don't know what that sort of an easter egg is, it is something completely random put in a random place to see what random people could find it. Or something like that. But this one was a short song (modelled after a 40's song or something) that you can only hear if you leave the last song of the CD playing for about 6 minutes (which I did), but it's sort of obvious when you put it on your MP3 player and nothing plays for a while. Anyway, theirs a cool song on the end of Coming Up To Breathe and It's growing through my head. Buy the CD.
Now, I have finally added another chapter to my Countered story (Hip Hip Hooray). Very exciting even for me that the story is once again in the realms of the living (in a manner of speaking) and firmly look forward to adding it. Probably by the time you are reading this (whoever you may be) will now be able to go to a link on the sidebar thingy and read Countered in order from Prelude to Chapter 3 (instead of having to go down to read the Prelude then up then down etc). Then once your uptodate you can start reading every chapter when it comes out. :) Have fun.
Now, me and Dad looked for more 'footy highlights' on YouTube so I decided to add the most famous of all marks without question and it is classed as the 'mark of the century' by Jezelunko or some cool name that I can't spell.
Finally, I decided to add to this post a story I made a couple of weeks ago:
Suppose a man was born into terrible pain in a tribe where terrific pain was more common than people with hair on their heads. Now this man was named Jack, and like the rest of his isolated tribe he did not question pain, but instead focussed on relieving the pain he had, which was no small feat to do even at any degree. Now suppose this man named Jack somehow caught a glimpse of something in the horizon, and followed it until he left the tribe long behind and finally to his great wonder came upon a village. Wandering into this village, a man found him quickly. And oh what a man! Jack had never seen a man such as him. Jack stared at this man, for he was the biggest (in width) he had ever seen. And the man, who’s name was Chris, stared at Jack, for a thinner man he had never seen! Indeed, it seemed a miracle Jack was alive in such a poor condition (indeed, that very point would be debated for centuries). Chris took pity on the man, as all men with a heart would, and took him to a back room of his bakery. Now Jack said he would find him food to eat, however all the food he needed for the day was delivered, so he had nought but food his 3 year old rejected, mashed carrots. He laid Jack down to rest (who still had no idea why he was in pain) and hand fed him some. Jack was new to eating so he found eating hard to accomplish (even the reason to eat hard to understand) so then he realised it was instinct so he gulped it down greedily. This of course caused him great pain, as he was not used to something so good and he ate something his body was not yet prepared to take. Chris still wanted to help him. He explained that Jack must eat in very small portions at first and eat very slowly so his body could adjust. And so Jack did. He devoured every piece of mushed carrot, each one sweet as can be. Each mouthful he considered a delicacy. To tell you the truth, nobody has enjoyed food as much as Jack had. He experimented with different ways of chewing and he was the happiest person in the world. Now supposing this bakery was of the modern kind, the one that did not simply have bread but had many sweet snacks to almost hearts content. Indeed, the bakery that Chris owned was the best in the land, producing sweet snacks that were rivalled by none. Now supposing there was a window from Jack’s room into the general Bakery, and he saw the unrivalled snacks and wondered at the amazing food. He saw that the food in the Bakery and the food he ate were worlds apart and later asked the Chris if he could have some. “It is true,” he said, “that the food you ate is like dust compared to the food in my bakery, however believe me, if you ate my food that is so rich you would be sick and you would probably die. Now be patient and I will give you variety in food so that you will not grieve, but anything even remotely sweet will overwhelm you.” Now Jack’s tribe did not care about death anymore then pain, but Jack now loved life and understood that death was in fact to be avoided and that life is better than death, as is pain-free is better than pain. Now the menu Chris offered Jack was what would be considered horrible by today’s standards, Cauliflower without cheese sauce and things of like, but do you think Jack cared? Of course not! But on the contrary, Jack relished the food all the more, knowing full well that it will bring things better to come and imagining the greatness of things to come. Then finally, after a year or so of a simple and bland diet, Chris announced that Jack was ready to eat the store’s contents for free to he’s hearts content! “You did well, Jack. Sticking to the diet means you have grown immune to been sick to sweet things such as chocolate, a gift that is greater than anyone outside my village. My friend, you are not the first one to come to me in your state and I have wished to accept them all however, many people were grieved and depressed at not been able to eat my food early, or they thought that my words did not matter so they thought they would sneak out greedily. But I tell you now, not one of them survived.”
Now, if one can relish carrots and cauliflower without cheese sauce for knowledge of mere chocolate to come, how much more should we enjoy the limited pleasures of this world in knowledge that so much more waits! How much more should we take the pains of this world, knowing full well that a place without pain shall be our home! Obsess after the chocolate, and the chocolate Jack got. Obsess after Christ, and Christ we will all get.
Have a great easter!

Santa and Pranks (two more links I found recently)
These are just some other links I found yesterday.
I am proud of the Air Services Australia for working so closely with Santa Clause in making safer flights and sleigh for him. You can find out all of Santa's recent media releases, the proposed (and excepted by some international board) flight path, the training program he himself uses etc. You can find the media releases here.
This is a website I recently found called the museum of hoaxes and is really good.

My Accent
I'm not entirely sure what my accent is. I sometimes catch irish, scottish or english in it (I think that's because I like those accents and enjoy speaking it) and I can sometimes hear my accent change as I speak which is weird. Apparently I've got a different accent for different occasions ie: my performing accent (which I can hear) and my casual accent. I presume I have an Aussie accent all up but I can never hear the Aussie accent. To me it's just talking in a plain voice. Anyway I took a test in what sort of American accent I have and I got:
I'm not sure really what to make of it because I don't frequent America or even Inland North America so not sure what to feel. If you're from America can you fill me in?
| What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." | |
